Unsure about your size? Here's your guide on how to properly measure vintage denim.

πŸ“ Deep Dive: How to perfectly measure your vintage jeans

You can't rely on the label when it comes to vintage jeans. It depends on who wore them in, whether they were shrink-to-fit, and what decade they're from. So, for your jeans to fit perfectly, we measure each pair according to this 6-point system. We recommend you measure a well-fitting pair of 100% cotton jeans using the same method:

Β

1. Waist

Lay the jeans flat and close all buttons/zippers.Β

2. Hip

Measure at the widest part of the jeans – approximately at the bottom of the button fly/zipper. Measure from outside seam to outside seam. Orient yourself by the bottom seam of the closure.

3. Rise

Measure vertically upwards from the crotch seam (the point where all four seams meet) to the top edge of the waistband.

* High Rise: usually 29cm+

* Mid Rise: Β 28cm

4. Thigh

Measure horizontally across the pant leg from directly at the crotch seam (or approx. 2 cm below it) to the outer edge. Since vintage denim has no stretch, you should always allow for some room here.

Β

5. Inseam

Measure from the crotch seam along the inner leg seam all the way down to the hem. Never rely on the L-measurement on the label, as many jeans have been shortened or shrunk over the years.

6. Leg Opening

Measure the width of the hem at the very bottom of the pant leg. This measurement tells you the cut.
